Tradgic Event Of The Day

I know that I have already posted something today but this is way more important. I have just learned that one of my favorite artists Michael Jackson died a few hours ago. He was found in his appartment not breathing, he was pronounced dead in a hospital in LA, the doctors are saying cardiac arrest. I am perfectly aware of the accusations against mj and I firmly believe that he was not guilty. He was a troubled man but not by his own wrongdoing, the extent of his mental torment was more than likely caused by his excessivly abusive father. None of that matters now though, mj was a true icon of pop culture and music all around the world. He will be greatly missed and mourned over. Rest in peace Michael.

This Doesnt Seem Fair

I absolutly hate not being able to drive! Having friends that are 3 and 4 years older than me doesnt help this matter much. Sure they can give me rides and stuff but stil. Seeing the freedom of my seventeen year old friends and the pleasure they get from that freedom makes me want the same, but since I am 14 so that is an impossibility. I suppose that being content and happy with what I do have and what I can do is more difficult for me than I realized. I look at my younger sibblings and my younger friends and think about all the things I can do that they cant, that always makes me feel better. :) Sometimes I have to remind myself to come back down to earth and be thankful for what I have, I strongly believe that i am not the only human that has to do so every once in a while. haha.

What does this look like to you? It just looks like a normal guy catching a great wave right? Wrong, as a surfer I look at this picture differently, i dont see just a guy surfing, i see months of practice and a massive amount of skill. That however is not what this post is about. This post is about what you cannot see in the picture. First lets look at what you can see... He looks happy, like hes having a great time, why wouldnt he be, thats a great wave. What you dont see and what he probably doesnt realize is that he isnt the only one riding thst wave. Now you probably think im insane, well, i kinda am but i know what im talking about now. As little as three feet away from our unsuspecting surfer lurks a shark. The sole enemy of most surfers. Now lets move on to our next subject...

This surfer, unlike the first one is compleatly aware of his imminate danger. By looking at this angle I would say that this shark is roughly six and a half feet in length. That is a pretty good size for a shark, i can only imagine the thoughts running through this brave man's mind at this second. If you look at the angle of his board he doesnt appear to be turning around. He is planning on taking this wave in spite of the horror inside it. This may seem like a crazy idea but this is what surfers do every time they catch a wave, although they cant see the actual shark, they know that it is there. This guys has a bit of an advantage actually, if you can see the danger you can avoid it correct? If you cannot see it, there is no way to know how to avoid it. Even swimmers face this danger as demonstrated in this next picture...

When you first look at this picture it seems as though the surfer is in danger. If you close your eyes and extend the photo to the shore you would see that the shark is in the direct path of the swimmers, not the surfer. Sharks are missunderstood, like me. To others they are portreyed as vicious and blood thirsty, this is not true. If and when the attack us it is only because they felt threatened by us. We have to remember that the ocean is their home. Look at it this way, if some person that you didnt know came into your house and just started hanging out like it was their property what would you do? You would defend your terf and your family. While we have guns, knifes, and our own fists, the sharks only means of defense is their teeth.

I have a massive amount of respect and understanding for these complex and gentle creatures. I hope you will understand where I am coming from with this and will goin me in rebeling against the vicious claims and actions put on the innocent sharks.

How can I possibly be happy?

Have you ever heard people say to keep on the bright side in a situation, or to find joy amidst terror and suffering? This may sound like a suitable solution for your monday morning "depression" but this task is easier spoken than accomplished. Currently I am suffering from an ailment known commonly as a virus, it sucks, alot. Over the past few days while laying in bed staring at my tv I have been trying to find the "bright side" of my situation. I have only come up with one up side, no school, but seeing how it is June and school is out anyway, im back to just being sad and sickly. Oh but I do get alot more attention when im sick, which since im a leo is wonderful. Im pretty content with that being my only upside for now.
